*Atelier (French: [atəlje]): a workshop or studio, especially one used by an artist or designer.
Founded in 2015, Ma Ly Atelier was located in the M Street Arts Complex downtown Fresno, CA before moving in to Vernissage in July 2018. Artist and instructor Ma Ly has been teaching drawing and painting to children (ages 7-17) and adults since 2011.
CLASSES for ADULTS (all levels):
You have always wanted to learn to draw and paint but you don’t know how to get started or you simply need a refresher? Ma Ly will guide you through the process of creating your own work of art. Typically, students come with a picture they want to copy in the medium of their choice (acrylic, soft pastel, oil, watercolor) and they are shown the whole process from the drawing to the finished painting. Ma teaches an easy approach (composition, proportions, color mixing) without being too technical. Different styles of paintings are discussed to help you develop your abilities, gain confidence and grow.
All levels welcome, no experience necessary. You will be working at your own pace in a small group of 5-8 students, beginners and advanced, which can only inspire you. There is no pressure and no judgement as it is a pass time for everyone and not a competition.
CLASSES for YOUTH (ages 7-17, all levels):
When enrolled in a 4 week session, children complete one project per week, using one medium at a time (acrylic, watercolor, soft pastel, mixed media). They explore different techniques and process to have a taste of the materials they can use to create their own masterpiece.
The class must be paid in full when you sign up and one week in advance to secure your seat for the following 4 week session, otherwise it will be given to other students. Fees are subject to change without notice.
1/ By student:
• Cancellation less than 1 week prior to the class will be charged. If student makes arrangements at least one week ahead of time to skip a class during the 4 week session, the fee will be credited towards the next available class.
