I was born, raised and educated in Kiev, Ukraine and graduated as a Civil Engineer. I came to the United States in 1994 and after struggling to find employment for several years, I was fortunate enough to be hired as a Civil Engineer with the Country of Fresno.
Nearly ten years ago at an ArtHop I was inspired to signed up for my first ceramics class at Clay Mix. I didn’t realize at the time what an unfathomably deep subject working with clay was going to be. Finding my way with the many varieties of clay, glaze, and firing techniques, I have entered the magical and ancient world of ceramics which has brought great joy to my life. Most importantly, it has introduced me to the remarkable community of local artists who graciously embraced me and never fail to inspire me.
Currently, I am a member at the Clay Hand Studios, where I continue to experiment with new ceramic techniques, processes and materials.
