Robert Weibel is a multi-media artist who has created public art (Superior Court, Warnors Theater Window Project, Roe Restaurant/Lounge) and has been selected for international juried exhibitions by noted jurors Mat Gleason, Los Angeles and Jane Bebe, Portland.

Since 2008, he is most recognized for his gunpowder drawing and has been described as “a pioneer in this explosive field.” He has shown locally at many venues, as a founding member of ArtHop and including the Fresno Arts Museum, Gallery 25 and 1821 Gallery & Studios. He has been a member of the Printmakers Guild, Gallery 25, and the California Contemporary Art Collective.

His Process can be viewed in several documentaries: “Fire Medicine”, Eric Minh Swenson Productions, “Conversation with the Muse”, Boss Productions: and others on Youtube. The “Personal Totems” exhibition was a major departure from gunpowder drawing, and was honored as one of the Top Twenty San Joaquin Valley Cultural Events of 2016 by the Fresno Bee.
